After the local elections this year, Greens saw gains in councils everywhere.
In Stroud District Council, Greens retained control with their Labour and Liberal Democrat alliance. Green Cllr Catherine Braun, council Deputy Leader, told Stroud News and Journal:
“We are pleased to have reached agreement following discussions on the detail of how the Alliance will operate.
“Our experience of working in co-operation over recent years has proved our three parties are able to rise above party politics to make decisions for the benefit of all residents in the District.
“The Green Group of councillors is really looking forward to working with other Alliance members to deliver improvements for our communities, to support residents and businesses to recover from the pandemic.
“We are all committed to deliver on the District Council’s ‘2030 Strategy’ on the climate and nature emergency, which was formally adopted in March.”

In Oxfordshire City Council, Greens agreed to form a coalition with Labour and Lib Dems.
In a joint statement, the three party group leaders, Liz Leffman (Lib Dems), Liz Brighouse (Labour) and Cllr Pete Sudbury (Green), said “We are pleased to have reached agreement to work together at this crucial and challenging moment for our county and the region.
“We have put party differences aside to developed a shared vision that is underpinned by the principles shared across our manifestos, with climate change and the environment at their heart. We look forward to delivering real and lasting change for the people of Oxfordshire.”
